SpeedBox
Resistance Swimming
The SpeedBox provides progressive resistance, where the resistance increases as the swimmer goes down the pool away from the device. The initial load is low to allow for a good push-off or dive start. Thereafter, the overload principle from land training is used to develop strength and power while swimming.
Assisted Swimming
Assisted swimming uses stored potential energy in the SpeedBox to tow the swimmer through the water. Starting from 20-25 meters away, the swimmer swims toward the SpeedBox and is assisted down the pool, up to approximately 5 meters from the wall. As a result the swimmer experiences faster swim and recovery speeds. Furthermore, the swimmer becomes more conscious of slower drag forces, allowing them to strive for perfect technique throughout the swim.
