National Steps Challenge™ Season 5 – Guide to Registration, Steps Tracker Collection & Rewards

National Steps Challenge™ is back for its fifth season, from 26 October 2019 to 30 April 2020! So, what exactly is the National Steps Challenge™ all about? Launched by Health Promotion Board (HPB), this challenge encourages Singaporeans to clock 10,000 steps a day, as well as to engage in 150 minutes of Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activities (MVPA) a week. Just by joining in the challenge, you will be able to earn attractive rewards as you keep fit on the go! To qualify, you need to be at least 17 years old (based on birth year) with a valid NRIC/FIN number upon registration of the challenge.

How do I get my own fitness tracker?

Silver Challenge participants (Singaporeans/Permanent Residents who are born in 1959 or earlier) will be able to receive an AXTRO Fit 2, which features a colour display, improved heart-rate sensor, a magnetic charging cradle, and many more!

AXTRO Fit 2If you are a Silver Challenge participant, here are ways in which you can get your very own fitness tracker: 

  1. Mega Roadshows

    The National Steps Challenge™ Mega Roadshow are located at different locations as shown below, where they span over the next 2 weekends. Join in the fun and feel good as you move with adorable Pokémon mascots! You will also be able to collect your free tracker at the respective Mega Roadshows.

  2. Make An Appointment

    Unable to come down to any of our roadshows? Why not skip the queue and make an appointment to collect your fitness tracker!
    An appointment can be booked through the Healthy 365 mobile application and you can collect them at either selected 7-Eleven outlets or Community Centres. You can collect up to three trackers for you and your family, as long as a softcopy or photocopy of their NRIC, and booking reference QR code is provided!

  3. Retail Purchase

    Apart from those mentioned above, you can purchase the AXTRO Fit 2 for just $19 at our store located at Peninsula Shopping Centre #02-22. Alternatively, you can also order it from our online store.

How to sync your tracker with the Healthy 365 mobile application

  1. Download or update to the latest version of the Healthy 365 mobile application
  2. Create a new profile, or restore your profile if you already have one.
  3. Sign up for the “National Steps Challenge™ Season 5” under the “Challenges” tab.
  4. Pair your fitness tracking device with the application
  5. Sync your fitness records and earn Healthpoints
  6. Redeem your points for rewards such as e-Vouchers!

National Steps Challenge™ Pokémon-Themed Collectible Kit

In this 5th season of National Steps Challenge™, Pokémon-themed collectible kits will be given specially and exclusively to “Loyal Supporters” and “Completers”. This is to thank participants for participating in the challenge throughout the years.

You may be wondering, who are considered “Loyal Supporters” and “Completers”? Loyal Supporters are participants who have taken part in all past 4 seasons of the challenge, and Completers are those who have conquered all 6 tiers of the Steps Category in previous seasons. Therefore, if you are one of them, hurry down to the upcoming Mega Roadshows or make an appointment on the app to grab your kits!

Earning Healthpoints in the Steps Category

Once you have paired up your tracking device with your Healthy 365 mobile application, you are all geared up! Earn Healthpoints for every step you take, and turn these points into vouchers!

The Healthpoints rates are as follows in the Steps Category:

New participants or returning participants who have not completed tier 1 will get a bonus 350 Healthpoints to get them started!

Tier 1 is complete once your total Healthpoints hit 750. That is when you can redeem your first $5 e-Voucher! From there, continue walking to level up to the subsequent tiers. Every time you move on to the next tier, you will be awarded with a $5 or $10 e-Voucher as shown below

If you clock 10,000 steps or more every day, you can complete the challenge in 100 days! Earn e-Vouchers with a grand total of $35 when you complete the challenge.

Earn Healthpoints through MVPA Rewards Category'

Since season 4, HPB has added a new feature – the Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activities (MVPA) Category – for us to stay active and on the go. This means that apart from steps, you can also spend time on higher intensity exercises and be rewarded!

By taking part in higher intensity activities, you increase your heart rate to at least 64% of your maximum heart rate, and this may contributes to your 150 minutes of MVPA every week!

The MVPA category operates on its own tiered system, independently of the Steps Rewards. Here is the information you will need:

As there are 2 extra tiers of rewards in this season, the total redeemable e-Vouchers is now $50 instead of $30.

National Steps Challenge™ Corporate Challenge

This is a challenge where you sign up as a workplace to compete collectively. Registration is open and closes on 31 Oct 2019, and the challenge will run from 6 January 2020 to 19 April 2020. Top performing companies may earn up to $10,000 in cash!

Healthpoints vouchers & prizes

So you must be thinking after you have gathered all my Healthpoints, ‘What do I do with them?’ or ‘What are the rewards can I redeem using them?”. Well, there are a few ways you can use them - the first way would be to redeem them into e-Vouchers, which are versatile as they can be used almost anywhere and everywhere. Choose from a wide range of e-Vouchers that can be used in local supermarkets such as NTUC FairPrice, Giant, 7-Eleven stores, Golden Village theatres, shopping malls, bubble tea shop, and even Klook.

The second way would be to convert these Healthpoints into PAssion card points, where 1 Healthpoint = 1 TapForMore point or into EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay credit.

Apart from these, you can also stand a chance to win fascinating prizes in our Grand Draw worth more than $40,000! This can be done by obtaining chances every time you clock in 10,000 steps (1 chance) or 30 minutes of MVPA (2 chances) a day. How are you,

I don’t have a tracker devise, and I have tried to make an appointment through Healthy 365 Apps but no matter how many times I tried using the Apps to make an appointment to collect a tracker. I am unable to do so, is there an alternative way to obtain a tracker devise you.
