AXTRO Pte Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the AXTRO Fit mobile application (for Android and iOS). It also describes your rights under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and our obligations under applicable law. We have prepared this policy to comply with Google Play’s and Apple App Store’s privacy requirements. By downloading, installing, or using the AXTRO Fit app, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Data Collection
We collect various types of information to provide and improve our services:
-
Personal Identifiers. We collect your email address when you use email link sign-in via Firebase Authentication. If you submit an issue/diagnostic report, we collect your first and last name, contact number, and email address as entered in the report form.
-
Health and Fitness Data. When you sync or submit a diagnostic report, the app may collect health and activity data from your AXTRO Fit fitness tracker. This can include steps, activity levels, heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO₂), sleep, and other sensor data retrieved from the device via Bluetooth (as part of the diagnostic process). This health data is collected only with your consent when you initiate a sync or report.
-
Device Information. The app automatically collects technical data about your mobile device, including manufacturer, model, operating system version, and device serial number. We also log basic app usage data (app version, platform) and any error or diagnostic logs created during app use for troubleshooting.
-
Usage and Analytics Data. We use Google’s Firebase services to help operate the app. This includes Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and Crashlytics for usage statistics and crash reports, as well as Firebase Performance Monitoring. These services automatically collect non-sensitive usage data (such as device usage events and performance metrics) to help us improve the app. Any analytics or crash logs are stripped of personal identifiers as much as possible and used in aggregate.
We do not collect sensitive personal data beyond what is described above. For example, we do not collect your precise location, contacts list, financial information, or other sensitive identifiers. All data collection is with your permission or as needed to provide app features.
How We Use Your Data
We use your information for the following legitimate purposes:
-
Authentication and App Functionality. We use your email (via Firebase Authentication) to authenticate you securely in the app. This allows you to sign in, use features, and receive passwordless sign-in links.
-
Diagnostics and Support. Personal and device data you provide in an issue report (including health data from the tracker and device logs) are used by our support and engineering teams solely to diagnose and resolve issues with your tracker or the app. This helps us troubleshoot malfunctions and improve the product.
-
Service Improvement and Analytics. We analyze usage and performance data from Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to detect and fix errors. This helps us improve app stability, performance, and user experience.
-
Communication. We may use your email to respond to your support requests or diagnostic submissions, send important account notifications, and inform you of significant changes to the app or this Privacy Policy.
-
Legal Compliance. We may use and disclose your data as required by law (e.g. to comply with legal processes, protect rights, safety, and security) or as authorized under the PDPA.
In all cases, we minimize data usage and retain personal information only as long as needed for these purposes or as required by law. We will notify you if we intend to use your personal data for new purposes not covered by this policy.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only as described below:
-
Service Providers. We use trusted third-party cloud services (such as Firebase/Google Cloud) to store and process data. For example, diagnostic reports are saved to Firebase Firestore and Storage. These providers may process data on servers located outside Singapore. We ensure that any such transfers comply with the PDPA, meaning the receiving entities have comparable data protection standards.
-
Engineering and Support. To resolve an issue you submit, data (logs, device info, health data) may be accessed by our internal support and engineering teams. In rare cases, we may engage external contractors or service partners (e.g. analytics or technical consultants) under strict confidentiality agreements to help troubleshoot or maintain the app. Any third-party agents may only use the data for the purpose of assisting us.
-
Legal Requirements. We may disclose personal data if required by law enforcement, regulation, court order, or similar legal process. In such cases, we will (to the extent permitted) notify you unless we are legally prohibited.
-
Marketing. We do not share your data for advertising or marketing purposes with unrelated third parties.
Data Protection Disclaimer: We implement security measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We disclaim liability for unauthorized access due to third-party breaches or infrastructure vulnerabilities. In line with PDPA, if a data breach likely to cause significant harm is detected, we will notify affected users promptly.
Children’s Privacy
AXTRO Fit mobile application is not targeted specifically at children under 13, but it is usable by anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Children under 13 should obtain parental permission before using the app, and parents should supervise use. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child’s information has been collected, please contact us to request deletion.
Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable security precautions to protect your data. This includes encryption of data in transit, secure cloud storage, and access controls. We regularly review our security procedures to guard against unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration of data. However, as noted above, no system can guarantee absolute security.
Under the PDPA and industry best practices, we also ensure:
-
Personal data is accurate and complete to the best of our knowledge.
-
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for legal or business purposes. When no longer needed, data is securely deleted or anonymized.
-
If personal data is to be transferred outside Singapore (e.g., stored on overseas servers), we ensure comparable protection is in place.
Despite our measures, data resides on third-party cloud services; therefore, we cannot be held liable for breaches of those services beyond our control. We encourage you to keep your login information secure and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Your Rights
Under Singapore’s PDPA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
-
Consent and Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent for our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data at any time, with reasonable notice. We will inform you of any consequences of withdrawal and stop using your data for those purposes.
-
Access: You can request access to personal data we hold about you, and ask how it has been used or shared in the past year.
-
Correction: You can request correction of your personal data if it is inaccurate or incomplete. We will make corrections promptly and notify any other organizations with whom we have shared the data within a year.
-
Retention and Transfer: You may request deletion of your data when it is no longer needed for the purposes collected. You may also inquire about whether your data has been transferred abroad; if it has been, we will explain the safeguards used (as required by PDPA).
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about our data handling, please contact us as described below. We will respond in accordance with PDPA guidelines and within a reasonable time.
Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, to reflect changes in our app, legal requirements, or privacy practices). When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date and notify users as appropriate (for example, via email or an in-app notice). Continued use of the AXTRO Fit app after the update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our data practices.
